World Premiere: James Day “Rewinds” 20 years with great single

He is one of the great independent soul and pop songwriters of our time, and his music has graced the pages of SoulTracks more times than we can count. Of course, we’re talking about James Day, the popular tunesmith who is now celebrating 20 years releasing his own music.

To commemorate this auspicious anniversary, in 2026 James will be issuing a two volume collection of some of his most popular songs – remixed, remastered and, in some cases, reproduced entirely with a live band or orchestra.

Vol. 1 of the collection will be released on March 20, but we’re excited to give SoulTrackers a World Premiere sneak peek, with this wonderful remix of the hit “Rewind,” featuring singer supreme Audrey Wheeler supported by saxman V. Jeffrey Smith and guitarist U-Nam. It is a fresh new take on a longtime favorite, and gives us a sense of the great music coming on the collection.
